About
I’m Mia Wexford, an Australian IT security professional with a deep passion for online privacy and VPN technology. I earned my degree in Information Technology from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), where I focused on network systems and cybersecurity. While my studies gave me the technical foundation, it was over fifteen years of hands-on experience that truly shaped my expertise.
2008–2012: I started as a Network Administrator and Security Analyst at a major Australian telecommunications company. This role exposed me to ISP operations, data collection practices, and the practical challenges of securing large-scale networks.
2012–2016: I worked as an IT Security Consultant for small and medium businesses across Melbourne, helping organisations protect their data, conduct vulnerability assessments, and train staff in best security practices.
2016–Present: I’ve been an independent Security Consultant and Educator, specialising in VPN solutions and personal privacy protection. My work includes one-on-one consultations, security audits, creating educational content, and researching emerging threats and solutions to keep users safe online.
Alongside my technical work, I’m active in Australian privacy advocacy, contributing to discussions on data retention laws, participating in cybersecurity forums, and working with privacy-focused organisations to promote digital rights.
Today, I continue to develop user-friendly privacy tools and VPN technologies designed to make online security accessible to everyone. My mission is to empower individuals and families to navigate the digital world safely and confidently.
